TPRS 101 - TPRS START

TPRS START – GETTING STARTED WITH TPRS

TPRS 101 – Getting Started with TPRS is designed for teachers that are new to TPR Storytelling® or for teachers who feel that they need to revisit and practice the fundamentals of the method with step-by-step training and experience as a student in a language classroom. 

This workshop is will be given virtually at least once per month and face-to-face at listed times on our TRAININGS page. The virtual version is typically 3 hours/day for 4 days while the face-to-face version is either 2 or 3 days for 6 hours/day. A certificate of completion is issued after the workshop has ended.

TPRS 201 - TPRS SHIFT

TPRS SHIFT – FROM BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE – “SHIFTING MINDSETS WHILE STRENGTHENING SKILLS”

Prerequisite: TPRS 101 (You may be eligible for an exemption. Reach out to Craig Sheehy -craig@tprsbooks.com- to find out.)

The TPRS Shift is a 15 week course (meeting once per week for 60-90 minutes) designed to help you gain the skills and mindsets of an effective TPRS teacher by:

-  articulating and cultivating 15 important communication-based teaching mindsets

- modeling, coaching and improving basic skills with weekly mentoring and

- finding your TPRS style in the classroom.

The course will be offered once in the Fall (August to December) and once in the Spring (January to May). The time of the class will be from 4-5pm Pacific time with an optional Question and Answer time for 30 minutes afterward.

This course is also eligible for Graduate Level Credit that can be used to re-certify or move over on the pay scale. The course name is PEDU 9425: Storytelling Practicum (1-3 credits). TPRS 301 – TPRS Step

TPRS STEP – FROM INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED – “LEVELING UP SKILLS THROUGH EXPANSION AND VARIETY”

Prerequisite: TPRS 201 (You may be eligible for an exemption. Reach out to Craig Sheehy -craig@tprsbooks.com- to find out.)

The TPRS Step course is a 15 week course (meets once a week for 60-90 minutes) whose goal it is to take your skills to the expert level by:

-  managing the class during stories to maximize student engagement,

- adding a variety of ways (over 20 new tools) to do the TPRS skills

- increase engagement through dramatization, dialogue, and other techniques

- and adding “toppings” to your TPRS with 23 strategies for interest.

The course will be offered once in the Fall (August to December) and once in the Spring (January to May). The time of the class will be from 4-5pm Pacific time with an optional Question and Answer time for 30 minutes afterward.


This course is also eligible for Graduate Level Credit that can be used to re-certify or move over on the pay scale. TPRS 401 - TPRS Strong

TPRS STRONG - BECOMING A MASTER STORY CO-CREATOR WITH A VARIETY OF STORY TYPES

Prerequisite: TPRS 301

The TPRS 401 - Strong course is the capstone course that will enable you with the skills to become a master story co-creator and apply them to a variety lesson types by:

- weekly focusing on different types of story
- writing new lessons based on sound principles
- combining improv skills with the elements of masterful storytelling

This is the culminating class and after passing a final assessment, you will be officially TPRS certified.

The course will be offered once in the Fall (August to December) and once in the Spring (January to May). The time of the class will be from 4-5pm Pacific time with an optional Question and Answer time for 30 minutes afterward.

This course is also eligible for Graduate Level Credit that can be used to re-certify or move over on the pay scale. The course name is PEDU 9139: Advanced TPRS Storytelling Practicum (1-3 credits). TPRS 101 - TPRS INICIO

TPRS INICIO – COMENZANDO CON TPRS

TPRS 101 – Comenzando con TPRS está diseñado para profesores nuevos en TPR Storytelling® o para profesores que sienten que necesitan revisar y practicar los fundamentos del método con entrenamiento paso a paso y experiencia como estudiante en un aula de idiomas.

Este taller se impartirá virtualmente al menos una vez al mes y presencialmente en los horarios indicados en nuestra página de FORMACIÓN. La versión virtual suele ser de 3 horas/día durante 4 días, mientras que la versión presencial es de 2 o 3 días durante 6 horas/día. Se emite un certificado de finalización una vez que el taller ha terminado.

TPRS 201 - TPRS CAMBIO

TPRS CAMBIO – DE PRINCIPIANTE A NIVEL INTERMEDIO – “CAMBIANDO MENTALIDADES MIENTRAS SE FORTALECEN LAS HABILIDADES”

Requisito previo: TPRS 101 (Puede ser elegible para una exención. Comuníquese con Craig Sheehy -craig@tprsbooks.com- para averiguarlo).

El curso se ofrecerá una vez en el otoño (agosto a diciembre) y otra vez en la primavera (enero a mayo). El horario de la clase será de 4 a 5 pm hora del Pacífico con un tiempo opcional de preguntas y respuestas por 30 minutos después.

Este curso también es elegible para Créditos de Nivel de Graduado que se pueden usar para recertificar o ascender en la escala salarial. TPRS 301 – TPRS Paso

TPRS PASO – DEL NIVEL INTERMEDIO AL AVANZADO – “NIVELANDO TUS HABILIDADES A TRAVÉS DE LA EXPANSIÓN Y LA VARIEDAD”

Requisito previo: TPRS 201 (Es posible que seas elegible para una exención. Contacta a Craig Sheehy -craig@tprsbooks.com- para averiguarlo.)

El curso TPRS Step es un programa de 15 semanas (se reúne una vez por semana durante 60-90 minutos) cuyo objetivo es llevar tus habilidades al nivel de experto mediante:

-Manejo de la clase durante las historias para maximizar la participación de los estudiantes.
-Agregando una variedad de formas (más de 20 herramientas nuevas) para realizar las habilidades TPRS.
-Aumentar la participación a través de la dramatización, el diálogo y otras técnicas.
-Agregar "coberturas" a tu TPRS con 23 estrategias para mantener el interés.

El curso se ofrecerá una vez en el otoño (agosto a diciembre) y otra vez en la primavera (enero a mayo). El horario de la clase será de 4 a 5 pm hora del Pacífico con un tiempo opcional de preguntas y respuestas de 30 minutos después.

TPRS 401 - TPRS Fuerte
